FAQ
How does the process of selling artwork work as an artist?
We will provide you with premium-quality canvases, free of charge, on which you paint initial art concepts. You have full creative freedom over the motif, style and execution. Once you have published photos and details of a concept on our platform, customers will be able to order custom-sized reproductions in an edition of up to eight. We will provide you with a blank canvas for each order in the respective size. Once the recreated artwork is complete, we will arrange for it to be collected, professionally packaged and delivered to the buyer.
Do all eight editions of my artwork have to be exact replicas? What happens if an edition looks different?
Handmade artworks naturally vary. Buyers on Surreal are interested in the overall artistic concept and color palette, rather than individual brushstrokes or small details. That being said, we ask artists to recreate their original art concept as closely as possible to the best of their ability.
When will I receive the payout for a purchased artwork?
Customers have seven days from the date of delivery to contact us with any complaints. Once this period has elapsed, we will initiate the payout to you.
Can I sell my art on other marketplaces or through galleries while collaborating with Surreal?
Yes. Our partnership is non-exclusive, allowing you to sell your artwork through other marketplaces and collaborate independently with galleries of your choosing. The only restriction is that the specific art concept published on Surreal may not be offered for sale elsewhere.
How quickly do I need to recreate an edition after receiving an order?
We ask that recreated artworks be completed within seven days of receiving our custom-stretched canvas. This ensures a predictable delivery date for buyers.
What happens if I’m not available for a few weeks?
You can temporarily unlist artworks and prevent them from being purchased while you're unavailable. You can republish them again at any time.
